Ten Mid-Prairie students received Division I honors at the River Valley Conference Individual Events Speech Contest earlier this week.
Kyra Helmuth took first-place in acting and second-place in musical theatre, Gavin Frascht won first-place in spontaneous speaking, Lola Knight earned first-place in expository address, and Elizabeth Meader took third-place in expository address. The 17 Golden Hawks will be competing March 9th at Grinnell High School for the district speech contest. Students who receive a Division I rating there will move on to the state contest at North Scott High School.
