
The Mid-Prairie boys basketball team was eliminated in the opening round of the class 2A district tournament by West Burlington by a 58-45 final.
The Falcons took control of the game early, opening with a 15-0 run in the first four minutes of the contest. The Hawks would battle back, cutting the deficit to eight going into the half. Out of the locker room, West Burlington again surged, pushing their lead to double figures. Mid-Prairie would make a run in the fourth quarter to get within six, but the hill was too steep the and Falcons held off the Hawks to get the win. Tom Butters led the way with a double double, 14 points and 13 rebounds, Grant Boyse had 12. With the loss, Mid-Prairie ends their season at 10-11.
