The WACO boys’ basketball team played a thrilling game at Pekin last night, taking the win 53-50 to advance to the district finals.

The win moves the Warriors to 16-4 on the season, which is the first winning season for the program since the 2009-2010 school year.  Last night’s win was their fifth straight win, and the Warriors will hope to keep that going into the district finals against a New London team that beat them by 10 in New London earlier in the season.

Thursday’s district championship game will be held on neutral ground at Burlington High School and is scheduled to start at 7:00.
