Snow and drizzle created hazardous travel conditions in southeast Iowa Wednesday morning. The weather caused many area schools to cancel and the Iowa DOT snow plows were out cleaning roads throughout the day that were completely and partially covered with snow. Tow bans were in place for Iowa and Johnson Counties Wednesday. The National Weather Service had a winter storm warning for Washington County from Tuesday night through Wednesday at noon. According to the National Weather Service, Washington had three inches of snow, Ainsworth had 3.1 inches, Sigourney received two inches, and Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant each had two inches of snow. Partly sunny skies are expected until Saturday when rain moves into the area. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
