The WACO boys’ basketball team’s postseason run continues tonight when they travel to Burlington to take on #4 New London for the district eight title in Class 1A.
The Warriors enter tonight sitting at 16-4 on the season after a three-point win over Pekin. That game was won behind a seven-point, seven-assist from Colton Horak and another massive game for Nik Coble, who put up 28 points and 14 rebounds.
WACO has seen New London once before this season. That game came on the road, with the Warriors taking a 10-point loss in New London. Drew Kissell broke out for 23 points in that one, but Nik Coble was held pretty well in check offensively with 12. The fourth-ranked Tigers are now 20-1 on the season after avenging their only loss against Burlington Notre Dame in the second round of district play.
Tonight’s neutral-site game at Burlington High School is set to tip off at 7:00.
