The City of Washington is continuing to attend to potholes as they resurface when the snow is cleared. City of Washington Maintenance and Construction Superintendent JJ Bell tells KCII News that the potholes have been attended to, but as the snow melts and they reappear they’re in worse shape. The snow fills them and smooths them out temporarily. Another obstacle that has happened eight times this winter that takes staff away from clearing snow or patching potholes, is tending to water main breaks. At this time, the city is still hauling snow to the pool area of Sunset Park. A winter mix will be used to patch the potholes once the snow is hauled away from downtown.
