A body was found in a burned out truck in rural Riverside. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 12:44 p.m. Friday, dispatch received a call that there was a truck fully engulfed in flames in a driveway at 3197 Bayertown Road Southwest. The fire was north of Riverside in rural Johnson County. The Kalona Fire Department responded to the scene. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office states a body was found in the vehicle. The name of the deceased has not yet been released. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Johnson County Medical Examiner are investigating this incident. The cause of the fire is unknown.
