Fifteen students from Mid-Prairie High School will be moving on to the IHSSA State Individual Events Contest. Saturday, 17 Golden Hawks participated in a total of 25 events at the district speech contest at Grinnell High School. Of those 25 events, 22 were given a Division I rating, earning a spot in the state speech contest. Some of the highlights for Mid-Prairie include six students earning Division I ratings in multiple events including Olivia Caskey in solo acting and solo improvisation, Sierra Mathews in spontaneous speaking and solo improvisation, Evan Meader in solo musical and solo improvisation, Gavin Frascht in spontaneous speaking and radio news broadcasting, Kyra Helmuth in solo acting and solo musical theatre, and Lola Knight in solo acting and expository address. Those receiving Division I ratings will be performing at the IHSSA State Individual Events Contest March 9 at North Scott High School.
