The Mid-Prairie School District has made their 2019-2020 school calendar official. Superintendent Mark Schneider, along with the administration team, has been working on the calendar for the last few weeks. At Monday’s school board meeting, the board approved the calendar as it was presented. The calendar has the school year starting on Friday, August 23rd and lists the last day of school as Friday, May 29th. Schneider acknowledged that it’s “not ideal” to begin on a Friday, but this was the soonest the state allows for school to return.

A new addition to this year’s calendar is they have built in two cancelled school make up days. February 17th and April 10th are scheduled days off for students, but will be the first days the district adds to the calendar in the event of having to cancel a day of school. The calendar lists a total of 180 school days and 1,086 instructional hours.
