The local Early Childhood Area Board is seeking to help programs that serve families in the community. The board is looking for programs in Des Moines, Henry, Louisa, and Washington counties who serve families with children from pre-birth to age five. This is part of an initiative by Early Childhood Iowa to support their goal of “Every child beginning at birth will be healthy and successful.”
Some of the programs that have benefited from this funding in the past include The Family Connection from Henry and Washington County, Family Support Preschool programs, and the Parents as Teachers program. It is unclear how many proposals will be accepted, but last year a total of 20 contracts were awarded a sum of $917,951. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on April 1st. Additional information and the application can be found here.
