The Southeast Iowa Superconference recently recognized area athletes for their work during the basketball season with their all-conference selections.
Four Iowa Mennonite School girls basketball players were selected to represent the program.
Senior Suzanna Yoder was a first team all-conference selection and was also voted Co-Player of the Year in the league. Yoder led class 1A, scoring 27.5 points per game, a full five points more than any other player in the Superconference. Her 97 assists were best on the team and 10th in class 1A. Her 70 steals were sixth in the Superconference. She also pulled down 124 rebounds during the year. Yoder shared the honor with senior Maya Johnson of Mediapolis.
Sophomore Yani Gutierrez was a second team all-conference selection. She averaged eight points per contest, while hitting 27 three point goals on the year, seventh most in the conference. Her 142 rebounds were ninth in the Superconference. She finished with 33 assists.
Senior Rubye Ney was an honorable mention pick. She averaged three points per game and pulled down 129 rebounds, 10th most in the Superconference. She also finished with 27 steals.
Junior Mia Graber was also an honorable mention selection. Graber averaged seven points per game for IMS this year with 113 total rebounds, 21 assists and 19 steals.
IMS finished with a 10-13 overall record.
