Iowa Mennonite School will be adjusting their fourth quarter to make up time they lost during winter weather. So far, IMS has missed 13 days of school and six other days have been shortened with late starts or early dismissals. Principal Dwight Gingrich says he hasn’t seen anything like this before, “We had a couple winters way back where it got really cold and the wind chill was like it was this year, but not this number of days. It’s been unique for sure.” To accommodate, IMS will add three days to the end of the year, May 28th, 29th, and 30th. In addition they will extend the school days during their service and learning term later this month, and will add a 30 minute block to each Monday for the remainder of the school year.
