The Washington boys’ basketball team finished their year at third in the Southeast Conference. Despite that, they were tops in the conference in scoring.
As a team, the Demon boys averaged 57.5 points per game, which was the most in the conference; .1 points behind Fairfield’s 57.4 per game. Individually, though, Fairfield had three scorers in the top ten in points per game throughout the conference, whereas Washington had just Cade Hennigan, who was tenth in the league.
That’s a testament to the true team effort these guys put on, which is also shown when you compare the bulk of individual scoring on all the conference teams. Washington had five players with 7.5 points per game or more at the end of the season compared to everyone else’s four. And the remaining three guys in Washington’s everyday rotation combined for 12.3 points per game off the bench.
Of the eight rotation guys, only two, Cade Hennigan and Kolten Hinrichsen, are seniors. The rest of the roster, led by Trevor Quigley, Treshaun Willis and others, will be back next year.
