Three area girls track and field teams competed for the first time in 2019 when Columbus, Highland and Winfield-Mt. Union traveled to Cedar Falls for the Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome.
Top finishes for the Columbus Wildcats included Angie Byas 70th in the long jump and 128th in the 400, Nayeli Martinez 110th in the shot put, Michelle Martinez 141st in the 200 and 179th in the 60m with the Wildcat 4×800 team taking 53rd.
Top finishes for the Highland Huskies included Emily Yahnke 35th in the long jump and 104th in the 60m, Kaylee Rath was 68th in the shot put, Sarah Schneider 78th in the 200, Fiona Mahler 112th in the 800, Mackinze Hora 115th in the 60m hurdles, and Emma Soukup 165th in the 400. The Highland 4×400 team was 48th, the 4×800 team 57th and the 4×200 team 70th.
Top finishes for the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves included Anna Hudson 64th in the shot put, Avery Maeder 109th in the 60m, Morgan Grelk 129th in the 400, Annabelle Loveless 135th in the 800 and Carlee Sloan 210th in the 200. The WMU 4×400 team was 40th, the 4×800 team 50th and the 4×200 team 69th.
