The Washington archery team is headed to Des Moines this weekend to compete in the NASP’s state 3D and Bullseye tournaments.

The Demons put on a great pre-state performance in Cedar Rapids this past Saturday, finishing with the highest overall scoring total of anyone in their division.  This was aided by eight Demon archers putting up scores of 280 or better out of a possible 300.  Senior Griffin Wood led the way, shooting a 291 while nailing 22 10’s, including 12 in a row at one point.  Mitchell Driscoll, Alexis Ide and Jack Strabala were all three points behind at 288.

Saturday’s 3D tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. and have flights with start times from then until 5:00.  The Bullseye tournament will have flights beginning at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 on Saturday and will continue on Sunday.  The tournaments will both be held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, with the 3D tournament in the Livestock Pavilion and the Bullseye in the Jacobson Exhibition Center.
