The Sigourney boys’ basketball team ended the season with the program’s first winning record since the 2014-15 campaign.  Their success was a team effort, but three guys in particular stood out enough to be named all-conference for the South Iowa Cedar League.

Senior Dustin Haines was named to the first team.  Haines led the team in most major statistics, including scoring (17.7 points per game), three-point shooting (37.9 percent on 67 makes), free-throw shooting (30-44, good for 68.2 percent), total rebounds (118), steals (44), and blocked shots (10) while also coming in third in assists with 50.

Two honorable mentions were named from Sigourney as well in the form of seniors Spencer Magill and Cole Weber.  Magill was second on the team in scoring and fourth in total rebounds despite missing a few weeks due to injury.  Weber was the second-most efficient shooter on the team, nailing 43.9 percent of the shots he took while averaging 6.1 points per game, the third-most on the team.

All three all-conference selections will be graduating this year, along with fellow seniors Tristan Bell, Trey Shafranek, Brett Striegel and Kyle Weber, and retain the remaining five players.
