Fifteen Mid-Prairie High School students traveled to Eldridge over the weekend to compete in the State Individual Speech Contest. Of the 15 students to compete, an even dozen finished the day with Division I ratings. A quartet of Golden Hawks earned a I rating in multiple events including Kyra Helmuth in acting and musical theatre, Lola Knight in acting and expository address, Sierra Mathews in spontaneous speaking and improvisation, and Evan Meader in improvisation and musical theatre. The waiting game begins as the team is currently awaiting the All-State nominations to be posted. Results on nominations for All-State Festival will be announced on Saturday.
