One man was arrested for assault on a peace officer after a deputy called for back up for a disorderly group in Riverside early Sunday morning. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 1:07 a.m. a deputy requested assistance with a disorderly group in the hotel at 3184 Highway 22. One man was saying he’d been scratched by a woman. Two more Washington County deputies responded and requested additional assistance. Three more deputies and Johnson County Sheriff’s personnel responded to the scene.
Authorities arrested 27-year-old Jeffrey Charles Damisch of Cedar Rapids for assault on a peace officer. He was also charged with disorderly conduct – loud or ruckus noise, fighting and violent behavior, public intoxication, interference with official acts causing bodily injury, and simple assault.
