Nine Washington High School speech events earned overall Division I ratings at the State Individual Speech Contest. The Demons traveled to North Scott High School in Eldridge to compete. Three Washington students received straight I ratings from the three judges, they include: Logan Hanson in solo musical theater, Sarah Newman in interpretive reading poetry, and Riordan Lujano in improvisation.
