Highland senior Aly Stokes had her best season yet, imposing her will on opposing defenders and pounding the glass all season long. As a result, she was given all-star status by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.
Adding on to her accolades, Stokes was named to the Southeast all-star team, which consists of the top basketball players in Southeast Iowa across all classes. She was one of 12 players selected, along with KCII-area familiar foes Maya Johnson (Mepo) and Mackenzie Northup (Keokuk).
The all-star games will all be played in tournament-style fashion, with the southeast and southwest duking it out for a chance to play the northeast or northwest team in the finals. The games will take place on Saturday, March 23 at Dallas Center-Grimes high school. The first-round girls’ games will both be at 10:15 in different gyms, the consolation game will be at 1:45 and the championship will tip off at 4:15.
