Emergency crews responded to a house fire in Washington Monday night.

A two-story house at the intersection of D Avenue and West Madison Street caught fire at about 6:30 p.m. Business Highway 92 had to be closed for crews to work to extinguish the fire. Firefighters from the Washington and Ainsworth Fire Departments responded to the scene, as well as the Washington County Ambulance. Siding was removed and ladders were seen going to the second floor of the blue house. KCII News will bring you more information when it becomes official.
