fashion-week-2019

An event to celebrate the changing seasons and promote shopping locally is returning to Washington next week. Main Street Washington’s annual Spring Fashion Week will feature two style shows. Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt says the event highlights apparel and decor available in the Main Street district, “We have done this for the past four or five years now, where we highlight the newest of the new in clothing, accessories, footwear, and then fashions for your home, as well, that are coming into our downtown retailers. We have wonderful stores that work really hard to source new merchandise. And it’s always fun with the changing of the seasons to see how those products change, so we started doing it just to highlight some of the really great stuff that they have in their stores.”

She adds that shopping in locally owned and operated businesses has a positive impact on the community as a whole, “Shopping local is so incredibly important to our economy and how our community grows that we really felt it was important to highlight what our local businesses are doing. They work really, really hard to have stuff that’s up to the trends, that changes with the seasons, that is at a price point that is affordable, and that is different from what you can get at a mall store.”

The evening style show will be held at JP’s 207 on March 28th at 6 p.m. and the brunch style show will be at Cafe Dodici on March 30th at 9 a.m. Tickets are $15 for each event and include food and a beverage while watching the style show.
