A driver who tried to elude authorities in Mount Pleasant was arrested Sunday night. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 11:40 p.m. a pursuit began when authorities saw a suspected stolen vehicle being driven by Nathan Gallup of Mount Pleasant. The pursuit ended and Gallup was apprehended in the 1000 grid of 185th Street in Mount Pleasant. Gallup was charged with felony eluding, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a no contact order, driving under suspension, operating while intoxicated, and multiple traffic citations. Agencies assisting with the arrest were the the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol.
