The Keota boys’ track team started their outdoor season this past Thursday, taking sixth in Class C at Washington’s Steve Roth Relays.

The Eagles’ 44 points came with having just five guys available to compete, limiting the amount of events the team could participate in.  Of the events that went, though, they had some great performances.

Justin Moeller was the highlight of the night, with all three of his events ending in first-place finishes.  Individually, he won the 800 with a time of 2:11.01 and the long jump with a distance of 19’1″.  The 4×400 team of Moeller, JD Stout, Wyatt and Sam Sieren took first as well in a field of six teams with a time of 3:54.87.  Other notable finishes for the Eagles include Wyatt Sieren finishing second in the 400 and Bryce Greiner taking third in the shot put.

The next meet for Keota will be Thurs. April 4 at Pekin.  That meet is currently set to start at 4:30 p.m.
