A building in Washington is getting a modern facelift with a Downtown Investment Grant. Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt explained the project is at the corner of South 2nd Avenue and Madison Street, “This is for the former Main Street Donuts location that is caddy-corner from the fire station. You’ve noticed they have started changes to the building, they’re getting it basically gutted and ready for construction. It is owned by an LLC that operates as People’s Capital Management, which is currently in our building and they are needing some more space. So they purchased that building last summer, and have been kind of plotting and planning what they’ve wanted to do.” The project is a little over $100,000 so the DIG award is for $29,000. Grunewaldt said they are ready to get the project underway immediately.
