The Mid-Prairie girls golf team scored a road River Valley Conference dual win Monday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City over the Regina Regals.
The Hawks took the team win by a score of 224-236. Mid-Prairie was led on the night by meet medalist Abbi Patterson who fired a low round 49. After the meet she talked about her day. “The conditions started to change toward the end but it was a little nerve racking coming out for the first meet of the year. The first hole, I played pretty well, good drive, good second shot that got on in a par four and two putted for par, that was probably my best of the day. It was a good start for the season but there are things to work on. Together the team played well to get the win.”
Other scores for the Golden Hawks included medalist runner-up Emma Mattes at 56, Abby Statler with a 59, Georgia Nisly 60, Amerha Rediger 68 and Kendra Schaefer 69. The Golden Hawks will next be in action Monday at West Branch.
