After competing in the Central College indoor meet Friday, the WACO girls track and field team is taking things outdoors for the first time this season tonight.
The team travels to West Burlington, where they’ll take on plenty of competition from around the area. Head coach Scott Meth says he’s excited to see some events that didn’t get to compete in the indoor meet in action for the first time.
“[At the indoor meet], we only had one relay running, so we’re going to get a chance to see our relays get out and compete,” Meth said.
“I’m anxious to see our shuttle hurdle for the first time; WACO has always been strong in the shuttle hurdle, and the girls came in with the attitude that we don’t want to be the ones to let that tradition die. So they’re anxious to get out on the track and show what we can do.”
Tonight’s meet at West Burlington High School is set to start at 4:30.
