Three area girls track teams were in action Tuesday at the Falcon Relays at West Burlington High School.
The Washington Demon girls placed third as a team in the large school division with 82 points. Mount Pleasant won the meet with 171 points. Washington crowned a pair of champions on the night with Jenah Greiner winning the long jump with a leap of 15’9.5″. Greiner also took second in the 400. Ashley Tellen took the title in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.81 seconds. Telleen was also second in the 400 hurdles. In relay events the Demons were runners-up in the 4×100 and 4×800 while taking third in the sprint medley relay.
The Winfield-Mt. Union girls were fourth in the small school division with 77 points. Pekin won the team title with 146 points. Top finishes for the Wolves included second place for Jobey Malone in the discus, second for Jami Wilkerson in the 100, third for Thea Urias in the 100, third for Avery Maeder in the 200, third for Farrah Nelson in the 400 and second for the 4×100 team.
The WACO girls were fifth in the small school division with 59 points. The Warriors had four championship events on the night with Grace Conwell taking gold in both the long jump with a leap of 14’4.5″ and the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:17.50. Anna Hudson won the shot put with a throw of 34’6″. The Warrior shuttle hurdle relay team of Laney Graber, Taylor Sammons, Maggie Rinner and Conwell also won the title in 1:18.78. The WACO 4×200 team took third.
