The City of Kalona and the Shiloh church have reached an agreement for Kalona to oversee the church’s water quality and wastewater facility. At the recent Kalona City Council meeting, councilmembers were presented a contract between the city and the Shiloh church. Kalona will provide staff and resources for day to day operations and water distribution, and will maintain the sewer water system for Shiloh’s water treatment facility. The services will cost Shiloh $1,000 per month. The agreement is a monthly contract that can be terminated at any time by either side. The council approved the agreement 5-0.
