The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track and field team started the outdoor portion of their schedule Thursday at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant.

The Golden Hawks had three event titles on the night led by a strong performance in relays. The Mid-Prairie sprint medley team of Clarke Latchem, Josh Wallington, Aidan Rath and Grant Boyse took gold in 1:39.10. The Mid-Prairie 4×800 team were winners in 8:47.57 with the team of Quinn Schmidt, Brad Tornow, Thaeddus Shelter and Miles Burrows. The Mid-Prairie 4×200 team was also a winner with Elmir Ganibegovic, Grant Boyse, Tom Butters and Aidan Rath crossing the finish line first in 1:34.98.

Other top finishes for the Hawks included a runner-up for Micah Gugel in the shot put, third for the 4×400 team of Boyse, Ganibegovic, Burrows and Schmidt, fourth for Schmidt in the 400, fourth for Burrows in the 400 hurdles and Butters fifth in the long jump.
