The Sigourney boys track and field team traveled to South Iowa Cedar League rival Belle Plaine for their invitational meet Thursday.
The Savages placed seventh of nine teams with an overall score of 46 points. Grundy Center won the meet with 140 points. Sigourney crowned one champion on the night with Payton Schauf winning the discus on a throw of 144′. Other top finishes for the Savages included runner-up for Mason Moore in the 3200, second in the high jump for Spencer Magill, second for the 4×100 team of James Moore, Greg Gott, Mac Conrad and Brayden Moffit, third for the 4×200 team of Aiden Schuster, Bo Schmidt, Dawson Smith and Greg Gott, and third for the shuttle hurdle team of Tristan Bell, Gavin Sereg, Cullen Smith and Spencer Magill.
