The Washington State Bank donated $1,000 to the Ainsworth Fire Department. Earlier this week Vice President Kim Hazelett presented the check to Fire Chief Waylon Schultz to go towards the building of a new fire station. Schultz explains the need for a new building, “We’re really cramped for space in there. We can’t do our truck checks and stuff without pulling the trucks out, which is really unhandy in the winter time. We got firefighters getting dressed around the vehicles when we’re pulling out to go to fires, so that’s a safety concern.”
Schultz added that the poles in the walls of the current building have begun to rot in the ground which provides a risk for the building to collapse during a storm. Online donations can be made at AinsworthFireStation.com.
