March weather in Washington was cooler than normal. According to the National Weather Service, the average temperature was 33 degrees, while it is normally 37.1 degrees. The average maximum temperature was 42.9 degrees; the normal is 48.2 degree. March started out with cold wind chills well below zero. So far this year, the average temperature is 24 degrees. That’s nearly four degrees colder than normal.
