The Highland and Winfield-Mt. Union track teams get back on the oval tonight when they travel to Mediapolis for a meet.
The Huskie boys will look to build off of a sixth place finish at West Burlington last week headlined by a pair of top three finishes by Zack Lasek in the discus and shot put. Connor Grinstead did some damage in the long jump placing second. In the outdoor season debut in Mediapolis on Thursday the Highland girls’ dominated the relay sprints taking top honors in the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams. Emily Yahnke had a runner-up finish for the Huskies in the long jump.
The Winfield-Mt. Union boys were at Danville on Thursday and had two first place events including the sprint medley relay team and Talon Newton in the high jump. Other teams making the trip include Danville, Louisa-Muscatine, Wapello, West-Burlington/Notre Dame, and the host Bulldogs.
The action gets started at 4 p.m. this evening in Mediapolis.
