While area girl teams travel to Williamsburg tonight, the Mid-Prairie, Washington, and WACO boys’ track squads competed at the Raider Invite last night.
Mid-Prairie had the best area finish in seventh place with 47 points while the Raiders ran away with the title with 111 points. The Golden Hawks had three second place finishes including Miles Burrows in the 400m hurdles (1:00.53), Quinn Schmidt in the 800m (2:06.67), and the 4x200m relay team of Elmir Ganibegovic, Grant Boyse, Clarke Latchem, and Aiden Rath (1:35.36). Rath was also third in the high jump (5’8’’).
The Demons placed eighth with 34 points. The 4x800m relay team of Justin Simmering, Evan Horak, Mitchell Driscoll, and Ethan Hunt claimed Washington’s lone first place medal (8:41.50). Lincoln Kleese was second in the long jump (18’10’’).
WACO rounded out the area teams placing 10thwith 11 points. Colton Horak claimed first place honors for the Warriors in the 400m hurdles (59.46).
