Washington’s Municipal Band will be performing their 88th season starting next month. President of the Washington Municipal Band Board Dr. Paul Towner has thought of a creative theme for the 88th season, “And I thought because of 88 and there’s 88 keys on a piano so we’d probably better have some piano music.” The band will have a new set of chimes this year. The band plays 10 Thursday evening concerts following the weekly farmers’ market in Washington’s Central Park bandshell. It is one of the oldest continually operating municipal bands in Iowa.
