Iowa Mennonite School athletic standout Suzanna Yoder signed her letter of intent this week to play basketball at the next level. Yoder, a senior at IMS, will enroll at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana next fall and join the women’s basketball team. She talked at her signing event Wednesday about how she made the decision and what has her excited about next year. “I’m really excited to have good team chemistry with the other girls. I’m excited to improve my game and play with really good players. I like to penetrate and kick, so it will be helpful to player with the good shooters at Goshen. I also like to push the ball and I know that Goshen likes to play uptempo. The coach is a lot like Kari, she is the type of coach that can push you really hard on the court but cares about you.”

Yoder has had an impressive career at IMS on the basketball floor. She has led class 1A in scoring for the last two seasons and finished second on the all-time scoring list at the school, while breaking the single season record for points scored. Yoder also holds the individual record for points in a game, three point goals in a season, three point goals in a career, was named the Southeast Iowa Superconference player of the year this season, while being named to all-conference, all-district and all-state teams during her time at IMS.
