A judge from Fairfield has been nominated to fill a vacancy on the Iowa Court of Appeals. District Court Judge Myron Gookin was one of six named by the State Judicial Nominating Commission. Currently there are two vacancies the state has to fill after Chief Judge David Danilson retired and Judge Christopher McDonald left to serve on the Iowa Supreme Court. Gookin was one of 30 applicants who were interviewed. Governor Kim Reynolds will now have 30 days to select two of the six nominees to serve on the Iowa Court of Appeals.
