The Washington Demon girls soccer team travels to Wellman Tuesday to meet the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks.
Washington comes into the game with a record of 2-1 on the year after a 6-2 win over Mediapolis on Saturday. The Demons were led in the match by Greta Roth with a hat trick. On the season, Trina Griffin leads Washington with five goals scored. Olivia Pacha leads the Washington defense with 50 saves on the year.
This is the season opener for Mid-Prairie. They took on the Tipton Tigers in a scrimmage Monday. The Mid-Prairie girls are coming off of a 1-10 season a year ago. Mid-Prairie returns their leading scorer in Elizabeth Baker who accounted for 12 of the Hawks 21 goals last season. Baker also led the team with a pair of assists. The Golden Hawks also return a pair of goalkeepers who saw time last year in Macey Smith and Erin Horesowsky. Action begins at 4:30 in Wellman.
