Three area KCII boys golf teams travel to Wahkonsa Golf Course near Durant Tuesday for the Wildcat Invitational. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks enter the meet off of a triangular win over Washington and Columbus last week in Kalona. The Golden Hawks won the meet with a team score of 172 with Noah Schlabaugh leading the way with a round of 39. This will be Mid-Prairie’s first 18 hole event of the year. The Golden Hawks have a 170 average per nine holes this season, led by Schlabaugh and his 38 average, best in the River Valley Conference.
Winfield-Mt. Union comes into the meet with a 184 team average per nine holes and a 362 average for 18. WMU is led this season by Jarod Kadel with an 82 average per 18 holes.
Columbus comes into the meet after playing a road dual against Wapello last Thursday. On the season the Wildcats have a 212 average per nine holes. Columbus is led by Tucker Bright and his 49 average.
Joining the Golden Hawks, Wolves and Wildcats at Wahkonsa are Durant, Louisa-Muscatine, North Cedar, Regina, Tipton, West Branch, West Liberty and Wilton. Action begins at noon today and continues all afternoon and evening in Durant.
