Two people were taken to the hospital after their vehicle crashed in a ditch due to strong winds.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 1:38 p.m. Friday a vehicle driven by Kaye Johnson of Wayland was southbound on Franklin Avenue, south of Trenton. Johnson lost control of the vehicle after strong winds blew it onto the shoulder. Johnson overcorrected when trying to establish control, and crossed the roadway, and crashed into a ditch where the vehicle came to rest on its top. Johnson, along with passenger Roni Stowers of Wayland, were transported to the Henry County Health Center for non-life threatening injuries. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County Ambulance and Mount Pleasant Fire and Rescue aided at the scene.
