In one of the biggest regular season meets of the year the WACO track teams will host the annual Ekstrand Relays this evening with numerous KCII area teams competing.

Area squads participating will be Washington, IMS, Highland, Lone Tree, Winfield-Mt. Union, WACO, and Sigourney. Head Coach of the Warrior boys Caylon Devaul tells KCII Sports this event has always been one to look forward to.

“There is not a better meet on our schedule with all of the teams we bring in for that and how well the meet is ran. The kids are excited and it is one of those that you mark on the calendar at the beginning of the year.”

The co-ed meet also features Danville, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Fairfield, Fort Madison, HLV, Keokuk, Mediapolis, New London, and Tri-County.

The events get underway at 4:30 p.m. this evening in WACO.
