Fire hydrants in the City of Washington will soon be flushed. The city’s maintenance and construction department will be flushing about half of the more than 400 hydrants across town beginning the week of May 6th. Maintenance and Construction Superintendent JJ Bell tells KCII News that the process may take the normal eight working days because they will be checking flow, PSI, and gallons per minute on each hydrant. During this process, residents may experience loss of water, rusty water, or discolored water.
