Safely dispose of old, unused, expired medications in Washington. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is being held Saturday. Prescription medications can be turned in to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Police Department, and DEA at the United Presbyterian Church between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday. Chief Deputy Shawn Ellingson says there’s also a safe way to dispose of them open 24 hours a day, “We have a prescription dropoff out at the jail 24/7 if anybody that wants to drop that off.” Disposing of medications during the drug take back or in the dropbox, keeps them from contaminating the environment or being misused. The drop box is open to the public in the lobby of the Washington County Jail.
