Federation Bank donated $5,000 to go towards a new building for the Ainsworth Fire Department. On Wednesday, Federation Bank CEO Jamie Collier and Teresa Hazelett presented the check to Ainsworth Fire Chief Waylon Schultz. Since the 1980s the department has been housed in a building that was originally built as a gas station and tire shop. Schultz says they’ve outgrown their current building, “When the department moved out there, we only had two trucks. Now we have four trucks that are much bigger because we carry a lot more equipment. We’re really cramped for space in there, … we’ve got firefighters getting dressed around the vehicles when we’re pulling out to go to fires, so that’s a safety concern.” The donation will go toward the total bill that is around $500,000.
