The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team took care of business Friday night against West Branch in Iowa City, doubling up the Bears for a 6-3 win.
The Golden Hawks got the scoring started in the 21st minute when Esther Hughes found the back of the net. Just two minutes later, Mid-Prairie doubled their lead with a Libby Baker goal. West Branch would climb within 2-1 on a 31st minute free kick goal but Sydney Yoder answered for Mid-Prairie before half to make it 3-1 going to the break. In the second half the Golden Hawks got another goal each from Hughes and Yoder and one from Julia Boller before West Branch tacked on a couple late with the game already decided. After the match, Mid-Prairie’s Esther Hughes talked about her night.
