Mid-Prairie is looking into splitting their top culinary position into two roles. Currently the district’s nutrition director also serves as the head cook at the high school. Superintendent Mark Schneider recommended to the school board to split the two roles. Amber Kempf is currently in the position and has been in discussions with Schneider about keeping the nutrition department as productive and efficient as possible. The role has seen several variations over the last 18 years. In 2013, the role was condensed into one position. Currently Kempf oversees the district’s nutrition department while serving as the head cook at the high school. The board will take Schneider’s recommendation into consideration.
