fire-hydrant

About half of the fire hydrants in the City of Washington are being flushed this week. Washington’s Maintenance and Construction Superintendent JJ Bell says two groups started the work Monday in the northeast area of town and along West 5th Street. The crews will be checking flow, PSI, and gallons per minute on each hydrant. The work of flushing about 200 hydrants is expected to take eight days. During this time, residents may see a loss of water pressure, rusty water, or discolored water.
