Louisa County residents who have had their employment affected by recent flooding are eligible to apply for disaster unemployment assistance. Tuesday Governor Kim Reynolds added Louisa County to the list of affected areas after President Trump’s emergency declaration in March. If somebody has lost their job or is unable to work due to injury or damage directly caused by the recent flooding, they are eligible to apply. Disaster unemployment assistance can last up to 27 weeks, as long as their unemployment continues to be affected by the disaster. In Louisa County the deadline to apply is June 10th.
