Just a couple weeks after being shutout 1-0 in their first meeting, the Washington girls’ soccer team got their sweet revenge against Mount Pleasant on Thursday winning 2-1 in overtime.
Trina Griffin found the back of the net in regulation and once again in extra time to secure the walk-off win. The sophomore now has 18 goals on the season that leads the Southeast Conference. Halle Leyden and Greta Rothe had the assists for the Demons. Olivia Pacha did her part in goal racking up 19 saves to add to a league leading 180 this year.
Washington improves to 7-6 and they get back on the pitch Monday hosting Centerville.
